You can see Sarah Johnson’s reflection appearing in a false painted window. The splash of geese flying above Rock City and the Allegheny River in the mural also represents Johnson’s journey to Olean. The first African-American woman to own land in the city of Olean, Johnson was told to follow the geese north for her freedom.
